Flex: Student Advice Centre Receptionist
The Role
The University of Sheffield Students’ Union is seeking a small number of flex Reception Staff to join our team in our Student Advice Centre. You will support students by triaging enquiries to the service, providing information, signposting and basic advice. As a receptionist, you'll support the effective running of the Student Advice Centre by managing diaries and delivering administrative functions. In addition to this, occasional opportunities may arise for flex staff to work at events or with other teams within the SU.
The University of Sheffield has a diverse student body and our advice staff enjoy working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and with different experiences. You will therefore need good communication skills, a friendly manner and flexibility in dealing with a busy workload.
We aim to provide high quality advice and guidance, alongside representation in the areas of academic, housing and money to support our students both in relation to their academic and home lives. Location: Sheffield Students' Union
Contract Type: Flexible (zero-hour)
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Specific Hours: Flexible
(Shifts are available Mon-Thurs 11am-2pm and Fri 10am-2pm during term time. Shifts will be allocated amongst the reception staff and we cannot guarantee fixed shifts. In addition some work will be available during summer vacation including longer full day shifts to cover for staff leave).
