Student Advice Centre - Adviser

Adviser - Student Advice Centre

The Role

The University of Sheffield Students’ Union is seeking a new full time Advisor to join our team in our Student Advice Centre. The University of Sheffield has a diverse student body and our advice staff enjoy working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and with different experiences. We aim to provide high quality advice and guidance, alongside representation in the areas of academic, housing, and money, to support our students both in relation to their academic and home lives. You will be able to bring your knowledge of advising in one or more of these areas to our team.

Through your excellent communication skills you will be able to explore and understand the issues our students are experiencing, providing expert confidential and non-judgemental advice to enable your clients to make informed decisions. By joining us in the Student Advice Centre, you will be able to make a real impact on the lives of students.

As a student led organisation, we are keen to provide self help materials to empower and equip students to work through and resolve any concerns they may face. Where needed, our expert advisers will advise, support and represent students, be this individually or collectively as part of the Students’ Union’s campaigning role. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Student Advice Centre and work with us to continue to develop our service for students.
