Bar One Kitchen Assistant

The Role

Sheffield Students’ Union is looking for Kitchen Assistants to join our busy Bar One outlet. The role will vary between preparation, cooking and serving, however cleanliness, attention to detail and providing excellent customer service is key in all areas of the role.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the smooth running of the kitchen and is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy, fast-paced environment whilst also delivering on the high standards expected by both the students and their guests.

Key Duties Include:

- Assisting with food preparation

- Maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen areas

- Washing dishes and ensuring kitchen utensils and equipment are kept clean and ready for use

- Assisting chefs with basic tasks as needed

- Ensuring compliance with relevant: licencing laws; Food Standards Agency regulations; and health & safety legislation

- Maintaining excellent knowledge of products and offers, and communicate these appropriately to customers
