Salary: Flex Rate - £13.43 per hour
Specific Hours: Flexible (up to 18 hours per week)

The Role

The Students’ Union is looking for Hygiene and Safety Assistants to join our Venues Team  to provide a quality cleaning service at our clubs, bars, functions and concerts.

Key duties for this role include:

Cleaning of toilets and public areas during late-night events to maintain high customer service standards and supplies stocked up is a key part of the role. This includes; keeping them clean, keeping toilets/sinks free from blockages and supplied with soaps and toilet tissues as well as cleaning alcohol spillages.

Liaise with security and bars management via radio and other team members during the evening to prioritise work to be completed and issues rising to keep a safe environment for the customers and staff, both within the clubs and bars as required.

Respond to calls by radio to deal with spillages of all types (including alcohol spillages and soiling) to keep a safe environment for the customers and staff, both within the clubs and bars as required.

Emptying of bins, safe removal of rubbish and waste management recycling.

Identify and report to the duty bar manager any issues relating to Health and Safety and general maintenance

identified during the course of the job i.e. broken toilets, trip hazards, and faulty sockets.

Ensure all glass and bottles are collected within the venues and clear up any breakages, disposing of the glass in the designated place.
