Casual Sustainability Projects Assistants


Students Union Sustainability Project Assistant (4-5 roles available) 

The Role

We are looking to build a small team to work together to assist the Students’ Union in achieving our strategic sustainability priorities. The team will share the same Job Description and agree how to divide tasks.


You will have knowledge of sustainability issues, excellent organisational and communication skills, and ability to work on projects both as a team and independently. You will combine analytical research skills with enthusiasm for the subject. You will have experience of presenting complex issues in a flexible and sensitive manner. The ideal candidate will also have video editing / graphic design abilities and experience of communicating to diverse audiences about sustainability topics.


Reporting to the Specialist Development Coordinator (Sustainability), you will:

  • Conduct “Action Research” into effective student engagement on sustainability topics.
  • Plan and deliver two-way communications with our members about progress on sustainability projects
  • Initiate a longer-term “Living Labs” partnership for sustainability, between the Students’ Union and a network of willing academics.

Salary:

£8.27 for under 25 ( £7.38 basic + £0.89 Holiday entitlement) / £8.77 over 25 (£7.83 basic + £0.94 Holiday entitlement)

Hours: Up to 13 hours per week, for up to 10 weeks. (No guaranteed hours)
