The coordinator advises volunteer leaders on all aspects of project management to ensure a high quality and safe experience for participants (including vulnerable clients). Co-ordinators support leaders to deliver bespoke community projects and work across a diverse range of interests and themes.

Joining us in our busy term time period, we envisage the post holder is likely to support student leaders to deliver Project Buzz, Nature & Wildlife, Science Brainwaves, Science Alive and Yoga/Pilates community activities.

 

Your skills

We are looking for a highly effective mentor who delights in supporting others to excel. An effective influencer, you will have an excellent understanding of the motivations and barriers for University students and for organisations in involving them. Plus, you’ll possess the skills to maximise opportunities and resolve concerns.

 

Highly organised, you will be able to plan effectively as well as manage resources and people, with skill and confidence. This busy role requires substantial juggling of responsibilities and simultaneous oversight of multiple lines of activity.

 

Committed to sharing the ‘good news’ of volunteering, you’ll have an understanding of best practice in managing volunteers / community activities and safeguarding clients.

 

This fixed term position covering a temporary vacancy. It would suit someone looking for a new challenge and/or a temporary secondment from their existing post.

Salary: £13.00 per hour (£11.61 basic + £1.39 holiday pay)  pro rata based on 24 to 28 hours per week

Hours: From 24 to 28 hours per week – worked mainly midweek/daytime. Days and times are negotiable. Possibility of occasional additional evening or weekend work.

Closing date: 7th February at 11:45pm

Interviews: Friday 8th of February, this role requires an immediate start and you must be available for interview at short notice. 

Start Date: Compulsory induction dates are - 13th, 14th or 15th Feb 2019 Applicants MUST attend at least ONE of these dates. Work to commencing 18th Feb for approx. 4 weeks.
