The Role

Bring our student experience to life as Sheffield Students’ Union’s Social Media Coordinator.

In this fast paced, exciting role, you’ll oversee the creation and curation of engaging content for our digital platforms. You’ll generate fresh content ideas, and capture and produce high-quality, videography and photography. You’ll manage and develop our social channels; planning, scheduling, and reviewing content to evolve our approach. You’ll work closely with our Marketing Coordinator, Graphic Designer, and other staff and students to share our diverse offer and the experiences of our student community. You’ll support others to create great content and grow their understanding of social media best practice.

We’re looking for someone with creative visual skills and flair for producing engaging social media. Your approach will be organised, proactive, personable and agile. You'll have a real understanding of our student audience, what makes this Students' Union so special, and fresh ideas on how to share that with others.

Key Duties Include:

• Developing and producing creative, original, and engaging content ideas in response to varied briefs.
• Capture and edit high quality video and photo content for use across our channels.
• Use creative/editing platforms effectively and efficiently to produce attractive and timely content.
• Plan and populate the SUs social calendar, and have fresh, relevant, and engaging content.
• Monitor, collaborate with, and provide guidance for sub brand channels.
• Recruit, coordinate, and support student content creators to produce authentic content from a student perspective.
• Support our Student Officers, alongside other student leaders and members, to be highly visible across our channels.

Use of AI in applications

At the Students’ Union we recognise the potential benefits of AI during the recruitment process, however we encourage candidates to consider how they use AI to support them, should they choose to do so.
