The Role

Do you thrive in fast-paced, high-energy environments? Fancy being part of the team behind some of Sheffield’s biggest and best club nights and live gigs? We’re recruiting new bar staff to join our flex staff team!!

Based within the Sheffield Students’ Union, the Foundry is a three-room club and gig venue with a capacity of 1,800. We host a wide range of events; from iconic club nights like ROAR and Poptarts, to exciting live gigs and student-led events. No two nights are ever the same!

As a member of our bar team, you'll be:
 - Serving drinks and creating great customer experiences

 - Setting up and closing down the bars

 - Keeping things running smoothly (and safely) by following key policies and procedures

 - Working shifts that typically run from 18:00pm–23:00pm for gig shifts and 23:00pm–4:00am for club nights.

 - Have the opportunity to work in other roles in the outlet such as Box Office, Hygiene and Safety, Cloakroom and as a part of our Welfare Team

Key nights include Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings, so availability on these days is important.

We’re looking for friendly, energetic and resilient team players who are reliable, adaptable and excited to work in a lively, late-night environment.

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate; a genuine commitment to providing a high standard of customer care, an ability to take ownership of problems and work hard to resolve them, have good communication, ability to work as a team, problem-solving skills and have a positive and flexible approach to the role.

Key duties in this role include:

- Delivering outstanding levels of customer service at all times

- Maintaining excellent knowledge of products and offers, and communicate these appropriately to customers

- Efficient operation of the tills and accurate processing of transactions

- Ensure compliance with relevant: licencing laws; Food Standards Agency regulations; and health & safety legislation
