Democracy & Advocacy Support - Student Influence: Voice & Advocacy
The Role
The Voice & Advocacy team is responsible for the delivery of Democracy, Elections and Academic Advocacy within Sheffield Students’ Union, supporting students to shape their education, represent their communities, and influence positive change within the University and beyond.
As Democracy & Advocacy Support you will support the effective delivery of Students’ Union Council, providing administrative and practical support to ensure that meetings are efficient and inclusive, and that records are accurate. You will ensure that all students at Sheffield are empowered to champion their ideas and turn these into meaningful change, working closely with SU staff and the Officer team to ensure that policy is impactful and student-led.
This role is suitable for anyone who believes in our Union’s values, regardless of your experience in student voice and democracy. It will suit candidates who believe in student-led change and the importance of diverse, inclusive representation. You’ll receive support from your peers, Union staff, and from Officers in your role, and candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Location: Sheffield Students' Union
Contract Type: Flexible (zero-hour)
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Specific Hours: Flexible though expected to work 5hrs per week in term-time
(up to 18 hours per week)
